Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh, the wife of Teddy Don-Momoh, widower of late gospel singer Kefee, has died just weeks after the couple welcomed their first child together.
The heartbreaking news was announced by her family in a statement shared on her official Instagram page.
According to the statement, Lara passed away peacefully following a brief illness.
"It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh.
"After a brief illness, Coach Lara passed away peacefully."
The family appealed for privacy as they grieve the devastating loss and requested prayers for her soul and for strength to cope with the tragedy.
"During this deeply painful time, we humbly ask for privacy and prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul, and for all who mourn this immeasurable loss."
They added that details of her funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.

Lara's passing comes barely two weeks after she and Teddy Don-Momoh celebrated the birth of their first child together, a joyful moment that was widely celebrated by family, friends and well-wishers.
Teddy Don-Momoh was previously married to renowned gospel singer Kefee, who died in June 2014 after battling a lung-related illness.
